Hi friends! Today is the first Friday of July. To celebrate, I flipped a lamp. So, here it is:
This is the fabric I used:
Ok, it's time to get real.
I encountered some difficulties with this project. And I am not going to hide them from you. This project did not turn out how I expected and I am not pleased.
When I took off the bumpy stuff from the lampshade, it ripped holes in my lampshade (which I am sure is 30+ years old).
This is the biggest of the wholes in my lampshade. So sad.
When the light is on, the hole is SO obvious (even after I covered it with paper and fabric!) Who wants to look at a nasty lampshade like that? Fail.
Also, I am not pleased with the Big White Egg. Before I spray painted the center bulb of the lamp base, it was chipping. I did my best to scrap off the chips, but it did not work. I painted it anyway. And now, it chips so easily.
So here is the deal. Not every project is great. Some are frustrating and irritating and don't turn out well. I don't know what I am going to do with it. Maybe give it back to Goodwill. Lame.
Or, you know, if you want it. You just let me know. I'll drop it off later today.

Hopefully, you enjoyed seeing my craft failure. Thank you.

You should try making your own chalk paint to do your lamp. It sticks to anything! Hope it works out! :)
