Ever since I was little, I have dreamed of my future reality. In this reality, I had made friends with a cow and everyday it would come to my Dutch door and stick it's head into my home and give me a nice MOOO! And then I would bring it a snack, whatever it is that cows like as a snack.
Serious about this. Ask my friends. Husband. Boss. They have all heard of this dream.
Everything that I thought my life was going to look like before we got married isn't. Somewhere in the past two years, we have changed a little bit. And in a good way. We are changing in ways that allows my dream of having a friend-cow to become a reality.
Take the ranch. We have been going up there quite a bit and have been learning and doing things, I thought we would never do. For instance, last time we were up there, Jayson had me using a pick-ax.
I now know what it means to "muck the stalls", how to feed a horse, and how to ride a quad.
The thumbs-up was really just in good humor. But you can tell he really means it.
Pretty amazing out there.
I truly think time moves more slowly out there. No joke. You get more time and you spend it doing better things. I call that a win-win.
This is the smile of a man who is truly happy about where he is headed.
I do not know what our future holds. Whether we will turn into 'country folks.' But I do know that happiness is having the one you love next to you in a truck.
