For Christmas 2012, we decided not to buy anything. We decided we wanted time together. The third weekend in January, we took off.
Pismo was our getaway of choice. The Cottage Inn to be specific.
When we got to the hotel, Rosie was welcomed as the special pet guest! It totally made our day. And Rosie's of course.
It was the most beautiful weekend. In Bakersfield it was 45, but in Pismo it was high 50's and sunny and warm.
After we got settled in our room, we took Rosie down to the beach. Simply beautiful.
The cutest little bulldog you ever did see.
Our room opened up to the cliffs. We had an ocean view from our room and one of our favorite things was sitting and looking out at the ocean.
We got ready to go out to dinner. We went to Ventana Grill. It was amazing. And while we were there, we were saying stuff like, 'Bet Trevor & Brandi would be so jealous if they knew we were here.' And then Jayson texted Trevor. And before you know it, we had figured it out.
Trevor & Brandi were in Pismo also! It was a totally crazy spontaneous things that was so fun.
We met up later that night, and then met at their hotel's hot tub for more hangout time.
The next morning, we made a Starbucks run. We enjoyed sipping coffee on the cliffs in the sunshine.
After breakfast and checking out of our hotel rooms, we met up with Trev & Brandi in Avila. A playoff football came was on. While I was not as interested in the game, I was interested in my ocean view and the sun on my shoulders.
We sat out there for hours. People watching. Chatting. Oh, and a bird pooped in Brandi's drink. Funny stuff. It was perfect.
Brandi took this picture of us. Onlooker Trevor cracks me up. Look at his little smirk. He would be glad to know he made it in the picture.
A better one.
Love this man so much. He always amazes me at how he knows how I need to be loved. Selfless and pure of heart. So glad he is mine.
There is that cute couple.
I love how fun loving they are. And they have no fear. They love new experiences and new people.
Here was one of the people-watching situations that had us rolling. There was this big group gathered for what looked like a wedding. And then this older couple joined them.
Except, they did not want to sit in the bar height chairs. So little chairs were pulled up to the bar height table. This is a picture of the man attempting to stir his coffee.
We had a wonderful weekend. And most of all, we felt relaxed. We love when we get to slow that pace down and experience that deep relaxation. Let's do it again real soon.
