In April, I entered into my 24th year. I am not a big birthday person. Before this birthday, I told Jay that I didn't care what we did. I just wanted him to decide. Don't make me decide. Please.
Well, I am here to report that he officially pulled it off. He surprised me. Made me feel loved. It was a great birthday. And, I did not have to decide one thing. I woke up to that lovely surprise above. Complete with a rose. So sweet. He really knows me. He also made me pancakes and coffee. Like I said, he really knows me.
We invited my family over for a little birthday BBQ. We did some work on the backyard and got it cleaned up. Jay made turkey burgers. We also had tater-tots, green beans, and the parents brought over homemade ice cream. Delish.
Enjoying the deck.
I decided that a family photo was in order. Set up the self timer. Got everyone looking in the right direction. And right before the camera goes off, Rosie decides to barf. We were all laughing. Great moment caught on film.
Most touching gift of the night: Mom and Dad got Granmom's hopechest refinished. They surprised me with it. It looked so beautiful and practically brand new. Loved knowing that it is mine and love being reminded of Granmom everytime I look at it. So great.
We have that same set of blue table and chairs...good ol' Target :o) looks like you has such a nice birthday. I love that candid family photo and that chest...gorgeous! what a special, special gift.
