Leaving college was a scary time for friendships. I thought that we grow apart and have lives that are so different from one another, that there would be no relationship left. How wrong I was.
I feel so blessed to have these friendships. I now know that true friendship can withstand distance and time. That a real connection can make the time apart disappear instantly. These are those girls.
Let me first say, that Michelle, Erin, and I are all different.
Erin is the thinker/analyzer/compassionate listener/planner. More recently, she has added truth-teller to her list. (I need that)
Michelle is the free spirit/defender/adventurous/lover of those who need it.
Each bringing something to the table. I love those differences. And I feel truly accepted when I am with them. Thanks, guys.
For my whirlwind Portland trip, we mostly just hung out. Went downtown, got coffee, ate at a cafe, walked around, went to the Saturday market by the waterfront. Really great, relaxing stuff. Great conversations. Great time.
One of my favorite things we did was go to Slappy Cakes. It was a restauarant where you make your own pancakes on a personal griddle. It was awesome!!! We went a little overboard on ordering; got lots of toppings to mix and match options. It was so much fun. Great memory.
Thanks for a great weekend. I am so happy to know you.
