For Jay's birthday, we went camping for the weekend. Carpinteria was our place of choice. Looking back on the weekend, it was a great time. Lots of laughs. Lots. Like the majority of the time. Shelbey & Eric, Meghan & Kyle, Katie & Brian, and us. And Graham. So fun.
We started the weekend out with high spirits and donut holes.// Matchy matchy plaid twins. What can I say? Great minds think alike!// Katie - and this was the cutest one of us. Better luck next time.// Rosie lounging in the truck.
On Saturday morning, we woke up to find that the raccoons had eaten all of Rosie's dog food. We put that situation on hold and all went out to breakfast at Esau's. Remember the time I saw Julia Louis Dreyfus? Anyway, it is always great to have the whole group together. I know Jayson felt the birthday love.
I was touched looking around and thinking, 'all of the people drove and spent money so that we could spend time together.' True friends. That's real (as Meghan would say.)

Second time eating Juevos Rancheros// Love me some Graham.// Waiting for the train.// Shelbey being amused.
Graham and 'Uncle' Jay. On this trip, Meghan would ask Graham, "Where is Jayson?" "Where is Katie?" "Where is Ally?" And he would point to us! He knows who we are! That smart kid!
My favorite picture of Rosie from the trip. We stop to let Graham play on the playground and Rosie took off and started playing soccer with this family. It was pretty hilarious. Shelbey looked from across the field and thought, "That looks like Rosie. Oh wait, it is Rosie!" She just keeps us laughing wherever we go.
Parents.
Parents-to-be.
We were trying to be cute and take some pictures while the sun was setting on the beach. And this is what we came up with. What is wrong with us? Better luck next time, again.
Disregarding the last picture and the dog-food-eating-raccoons, we had such a great time. Thanks to everyone for celebrating my husband.
