The June Haps

June flew by. Just like it always does. At the beginning of June, we went to Hawaii. Jay and I had a great time. New Experiences. Beauty all around us. We felt truly blessed to go together.

You know when you are getting ready for a trip, and you have these high hopes that it is going to be so great? And that this is going to be the trip that the whole family gets along? Well, I think that maybe I had too high of expectations for this trip. I mean, after all, I thought that since we were going to Hawaii and all, how could it NOT be awesome?

This trip definitely was like that.
There were some tense moments between people. Awkward silences. Trouble talking. Bad communication. I just so badly want everything to go smoothly. I want to feel accepted. I want to be real friends. And when that doesn't happen, I feel disappointed. I still have hopes. For the future. For my relationship with my in-laws. For their relationship.
I hope that things are always improving. Always.

When we got back form Hawaii, I added some turquoise stripes to our back bathroom. I am really happy with the way they turned out.

Late June, Alicia and Kristen came to Bakersfield for a short weekend trip. It was great to see them and have a little mini reunion.

I so loved that weekend we spent together. The interesting thing about these girls is that our friendship has grown more since we have been out of college then when we were living together in college. We have so much fun together. Seriously, laughing the whole time.

Leaving college, I was scared that my friends wouldn't be my friends any more. That those relationships was fall apart. I now know that isn't true. Real friendship can still grow over distance. Love them.

We got news that Brandi got her first P.E. teaching job at Ridgeview. So excited and proud of her. We met up with them and all their friends at Mexicali and celebrated with them.
